About CONACULTA
The National Council for Culture and Arts, also known as Conaculta, is a Mexican government agency in charge of the nation’s museums and monuments, promoting and protecting the arts, and managing the national archives. It was created in 1988 an is a decentralized body of the Secretariat of Public Education.
Conaculta is headed by a director, who serves as a member of the extended federal cabinet. The current director is Consuelo Saizar Guerrero.
